COMENIUS PROJECT SUMMARY COURSE YEARS 2010-11

This year we have begun an European multilateral Comenius project called “All of us are part of the same game”. With this project we pretend our students to learn traditional Spanish, Turkish and Polish games. This project will be developed for two years.
The first year of development of this project we have being working in the following points:
- We begun the course 2010-11 learning the geographical situation and the most important aspects of the countries we were working with: Turkey and Poland. And also some aspects of the cities the schools are located: Mihaliccik and Sosnowiec. This information was published on the information board of this project, located at the corridor of the school.
- Our pupils filled a questionnaire about the traditional games they already knew and other information such as the time they spend playing a day, which games do they use to play to and so on. The results of this questionnaire were also published on the school information board.
- Each month our students have learnt a traditional game and one day of this month the whole school has played to it at the playground. The names of these games are: ring-shaped games like “Mouse the cat is going to catch you”, rope games as “I’m the queen of seas”, elastic ribbons games like “Palomita”, ball games as “Prisoner ball”, The handkerchief, English chick, Colour-colour, La rayuela, Red cross- Green cross, Blind hen. It has been an excellent experience for them. Now, our pupils spend much time at the school playground, playing to these games. These games have been collected in an album which will be printed at the beginning of the next academic year.
- We have also filmed this year a presentation of our school, building and students. They enjoyed it a lot. They were all the time very nervous but the result was great.
- One of our best experiences has been to receive our partners from Poland and Turkey at our school. It was at the beginning of December and it was published in local journals, TVs and on Internet.  For this visit we prepared a welcoming ceremony. In that ceremony we offered to our partners a sample of our traditional dance, music and the video presentation of our school. These days we were working on the project during the morning and visiting the most important places of the city our school is located in, Sanlúcar de Barrameda”. We thought from the beginning of this project that our partners will come back the following year and for this reason we didn’t visit any other city. That was a pity, when we knew that they wouldn’t return.
- Other unforgettable experiences were our visits to Turkey and Poland. We can affirm now that both countries are wonderful and the hosts made their best.
- A blog has been created to share all the experiences and activities of the three countries. In this blog we have made a competition to choose the project logo.
- A calendar with all the games that have been developed during this school year has been done.
- To finish the course 2010-11 the school has shared the information of the activities mentioned before with the families, through a party. Not only giving them information, but also making them to participate in traditional games.
